Hurray! Spring has sprung and what better way to welcome in the merry month of May than with a soaring tribute to the stellar music of Neil Young.

After THRASHER WHEAT earned a series of standing ovations at Northampton First Night, and performed a standout set at Signature Sounds salute to Neil Young at The Academy Of Music, the band brings its brilliant, acoustic renditions of vintage Neil Young repertoire, ranging from early Buffalo Springfield gems- Hello Mr Soul, Broken Arrow, Expecting To Fly; to his iconic hits with CROSBY, STILLS & NASH – Helpless, Helpless, Ohio, Our House, Teach Your Children….
The versatile quartet also covers favorites from Neil Young’s solo albums (remember those) like HARVEST – Heart of Gold, Old Man Take A Look At My Life, Out On The Weekend; AFTER THE GOLDRUSH – Tell Me Why, Don’t Let It Bring You Down, Birds; along with fun numbers from Neil Young & Crazy Horse- Cinnamon Girl, Down By The River, Hello Cowgirl InThe Sand. Rumor has it they’ll also include some valley favorites like Harvest Moon, I Am A Child, Sugar Mountain (and even slip in a Beatles tune for good measure) All in awe, a magical musical mystery tour through the creative gold mind of Neil Young
THRASHER WHEAT features father and son vocalists Mike & Chris Jennings. Amherst local treasure Mike Parham joins Mike on guitars and vocals, while Chris’s bass is backed by the nimble percussion of Natalie Roll (who completes the band’s line up of 4 vocalists)

Vision Statement:
First Friday Coho Concerts provides a creative forum for talented and visionary musicians to share their gifts and be supported by attendee contributions in a way that values their artistry and encourages their dedication to building a brighter world. Performances take place in the Common House “Great Room”: a space intimate enough to feel like a house concert but large enough to draw in the broader community. The series is a purely volunteer effort, organized by Co-Housing members who enjoy live music and want to share their delight with other music lovers in the Valley.
